WELCOME 2K9 it's so about time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

howdy y'all!!!!!
Today is New Years Eve. 12-31-2k8
I am soooooo looking forward to 2k9!
seriously now, yuppers- SERIOUSLY-!!!!

Yeah, okay what-ever. i was completely alcohol free when i came up with that one. Tis true! just like it's now edit time and todays date is.... January 3rd. Das Behr didn't make it to Macs before midnight but the behr did arrive ambeit during the first 18 minutes of the new year.I was onboard a s-l-o-w moving 22 at the bewitching hour. Anyways, I did see and I did kiss David for New Years! Okay now it wasn't a tonsilictomy type of kiss- mainly because Dave was insistant about not wanting to spread his cold to me [how sweet!] although, I've been fighting off my own cold for sometime now. After the kiss we wrapped our arms around one another for a wonderful full on body hug then I initiated another kiss. Mam-o-man it felt so good to have David Reineke in my arms-!!! YOWZA/YOWZA/YOWZAGRRRRRRRRRRR!!//

guess what?!? I also got to catch up with a man I kinda sorta dated ten years ago. "London" was also partying at Mac's and had also spilled out the door when David came out to see me. Long story shortened- London's name is actally Angel and he has known David for almost fifteen years... more to follow

The first SIX MONTHS post illness

This coming Monday [12.22.08] marks my six month anniversary since my illness. During which it has come to my immediate notice that people, generally speaking, are rude assholes and many are just too whacked out or off their meds or sumtin like that. I've begun going to the Sunnyvale Armory [cold weather shelter]on a regular basis. it's operated by the county of Santa Clara, in colusion with the city of Sunnyvale and the state of California. The doors open at 1800hrs and the shelter is open from 1800 [6PM] til 0900 [9AM] the next day. Week day days- DasBehr heads north to the Opportunity Center in Palo Alto. The "Opp-center" is like day care for homeless folks. There's a TV room and a kitchen plus a Computer Lab and a Medical Clinic. It was at the Med Clinic wear I got immunized with a flu shot free of charge! I've seen Flu Shot vacccinations advertised in windows for $25.00. Whew, DAMN-!!! [THAT'S HELLA PRICEY!]
Getting current now! Today is the 26th of December 2K8. And I'm at the MLK Library in San Jo [San Ho, yup I even partially pronounce in Spanish. Tee-Hee!!!] I've already been to Palo Alto The Opp Cetr is closed today (Grrrrrr) Yet I also noted that the same thing will happen next week!
And I'll be asking Mister Reinke to marry me in 2k9. Since the Californian Voters approved Prop 8. The Gay Marriage Ban is here only on the West Coast. If the man I love agrees to marry me, we'll be going to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to tie the knot. My family is so jazzzed that I've found a man that I want to marry. I'll be asking David the big question soon. In the meantime I need to publish this entry for today and figure out how to spend the rest of my day! Maybe I'll head over to the Defrank... and logon again from there. I still need to get a copy of my Cal I.D. so I can send it to the U.K. lottery ffolks- I need money ASAFP [Az Soon Az Fucking Possible. Today i'm heading to Innvision for Lunch at 13.00 hours. but that's nearly2 hours from now...10.40 hrs in the aa emm. A bright and Sunny day it has become! It's Still cold as fuck outside! Laters! 02.26.08 to 07.22.08 After a 5 month stay, Robb ventures back into the world

WHEW!!!!! Oh MAN!!!!!Okay then, now that I've been, once again, out on my own. It's now early November. Summer-time and even our "indian" summer is now over. I'm finally in a shelter- the EHC Shelter over on Little Orchard Street, san Jose 95125. I swear I should've been placed here when I was discharged from VVMed way back in late July instead of wasting my time at the "board 'n care" on Chilberg Court

Anyways- I'm Robb (also known as "DasBehr" or simply "bear". This is my first blog entry since my illness: ( My Illness: In January 2008 I was diagnosed via CT scan as having a brain abcess. The abcess was caused by my brain not having the capability of re-absorbing the spinal fluid it produces. In conjunction with the subsequent brain surgery to get rid of the abcess; I also had a "mild left side Stroke". I was hospitalized from 02.26.08 thru til 07.22.08. The effects of my stroke so far is my short term memory. Unofficially my personal awareness and self confidence is sureely rattled. My lst job was working for the Santa Clara County Registrar Of Voters (ROV)
It was an "extra help" working gig. One that had me Laid off during my hospitalization. Before the ROV, I worked for Nelson Staffing the assigned client was SCEA (Sony Computer Entertainment America) where I did Consumer support for the then- un-released Playstation 3 gamong console. I must have enjoyed working at SCEA, because I now have a PSP (PlayStationin Portable) in my posessetion. California DMV has suspended my Driver's Licence. I need to successfully complete a drivers safety course before my license can be re-instated. The one thing I'm having the most difficulty accepting is my disability.

I now need to get a social worker to look after me because due to my memory issues, it's hard for me to keep track of appointments and some commitments. More to come!!

My Self Esteem Booster Shot

Where the hell did January go?

Ah, yes the dog days of January- California Style. The time of year when most of the frigid tundra states like up in the Northeast, enjoy their "January Thaw", we here in the Bay Area are trying to bundle up for what many forecasters are saying- will be THE coldest three days since Christ was a teenager. A cold storm is due to slam us beginning MLK Day from my favorite cold storm manufacturing space- The Gulf of Alaska.

Snow Showers are likely said the weather dude on Channel 2. Now I recall hearing all about snow flurries in my youth. But 'snow showers'? Uh yeah whatever. The mean high temperatures for the next three days ought to be around 42F with lows around 38F here in the Valley. Although, it's very likely to drop below freezing in the inland valleys.

Last week I found myself scraping ice from my windshield with my California ID card. I don't own an ice-scraper (like I could even find a store that sells such tools). Besides the Cal-ID worked fine considering it was not even designed for that purpose!

Yea! I got a job!
In mid-January, my friend Mister R asked if I was working. I wearily replied that I wasn't and was considering whoring myself out to anyone for anything that would enable me to make my next car payment. Mister R advised me to print out my resume and to meet him at one of the county campuses for an early Monday interview. There I was at 07.30 hours meeting with Mister R's supervisor- Ms S. By 08.30 I was asked if I could return at 12.30 that afternoon to begin work in the new 'phone bank' for the upcoming California Primary.

It's a temporary gig... But I'm not griping in the least! I'm earning as much now as I was when I was temping at SCEA. The work could not be anymore 'brain-dead'. It's actually very low-stress. I never thought working at the county government level would be so much fun! I work a forty hour week. Get paid every two weeks and the best part- unlimited overtime! I should be getting my first check via mandatory auto-deposit on 1 February. It ought to be quite sizable 'cause Das Behr has got some bills to catch-up on!

Yesterday was Moving Day

Two weeks ago, my friend Mister M had posted a MySpace bulletin soliciting volunteers to help with packing up the operational headquarters for the AIDS Coalition Silicon Valley. I had spent many hours helping others move their belongings from one flat to another, but never for a non-profit organization. I thought 'why not?' so I did. It was fun and I enjoyed it. I wasn't sure if my social calendar would support another volunteer day for their move- but I assured Mister M that I'd advise him by the mid-week prior to ACSVs Big Move.

My task for the Big Move was to disconnect, transport and set-up the office computing network. A network that consists of three work stations, two printers, a router and DSL gateway plus YARDS of CAT-5 cabling. ACSVs new digs are huge in comparison to their former home, so I was quite pleased for the generous lengths of CAT-5. By the time I was finished for the day all three work stations were set-up, functional and networked. It was a good day. I also met a cool, sexy man with a brain! More on Mister B later...

All in all, I continue my strive to be the best guy I can be.
